ConvenePro’s staff has worked with multiple pharmaceutical manufacturers and international knowledge and opinion leaders with great success. High expectation audiences range from several to several thousand. Our staff has extensive knowledge of the clinical literature and a history of making that knowledge practical for the specialist or primary care practitioner. Additionally, our leadership has extensive pharmaceutical, managed market, and communications industry experience.
The Leadership Team
John L. Edwards
Director
Mr. Edwards brings a wide variety of experiences and expertise in the area of sales/marketing and education to ConvenePro. Mr. Edwards has served as Director of Sales and Marketing for a national supplemental insurance carrier for fourteen years followed by a six year term with the nations largest managed care organization. He led the sales team at both organizations with responsibility for new account development, strategic sales guidance, project management, team development and training and profitability management. For the past two and a half years, Mr. Edwards has led several teams employing strategic innovation and identifying opportunities within the healthcare arena with the primary goal of broadening relationships, enhancing the customer experience and modifying behavior.
In addition, Mr. Edwards has taught communication skill development on the secondary and the collegiate level as adjunct faculty at the University of Kentucky and Asbury College.
Karen J Miller
Assistant Director of Operations and Training
Mrs. Miller brings extensive medical and non-medical event management experience to the ConvenePro team. Prior to joining the ConvenePro Team, she was a conference coordinator for Creative Educational Concepts, Inc (CEC). Mrs. Miller managed over 100 continuing medical education events including dinner meetings, half-day seminars, poster sessions, and speaker training sessions.
Before joining the staff at CEC, Mrs. Miller was the Director of Event Management for Wyncom, Inc. in Lexington, KY. She was responsible for the training and management of the event-planning department and oversaw the planning over 150 meetings each year. Mrs. Miller joined Wyncom in 1999 as a program coordinator. In this position, she was responsible for the planning and on-site coordination of various seminars across the United States and Canada. Her seminar planning included reputable speakers such as Dr. Stephen Covey, Dr. Tom Peters, Dr. Ken Blanchard, Dr. Stephen Lundin. Mrs. Miller also holds experience in the fields of restaurant and hotel management.

Ashley Erin Bowman
Miss Bowman currently serves as Senior Conference Coordinator where her services include coordinating and overseeing dinner programs as well as symposia. She has worked in the medical marketing and educational field for over four years and has a Communication and Biology degree from Georgetown College.
Aaron Smither
A native of Kentucky, Mr. Smither received his undergraduate degree in Corporate and Organizational Communication from Western Kentucky University. His experience in event management and marketing began with WKU Alumni Affairs and encompasses both promotional and non-profit arenas. In addition to Mr. Smither's event management background, he also contributes knowledge in sales, training, recruitment, and human resources.
