ConvenePro was recently deemed “WasteBuster Business” by Bluegrass PRIDE, a local non-profit that educates and applauds businesses and schools in Central Kentucky that go above and beyond to be environmentally friendly.

 

2008


Nov. 2008 ConvenePro employees uncorked their community service spirit to serve the American Lung Association's Breath of Life gala and silent auction This annual event raises funds to support the ALA's mission to prevent lung disease and promote lung health, with a focus on advocacy, education and research.


 


Following a company initiative and a new corporate SHE (Safety, Health, and Environment) policy, employees have banded together to make the office "greener" and reduce their carbon footprint.  Day to day changes include the addition of more inclusive recycling bins, email signatures urging the recipient to consider the environment before printing, and donations to "Bluegrass PRIDE" (a local non-profit organization that provides environmental resources and information to schools, community groups, local government, and citizens) in exchange for a "casual day" during the month of December.


 


ConvenePro, partnering with our sister company, Creative Educational Concepts, wrapped up the year with groups volunteering throughout the day at Lexington's 12th Annual Christmas Store.  Many volunteers served as personal shoppers, helping marginalized parents and grandparents find gifts for the children in their lives.  The weekend was a huge success; Over 8,000 children were shopped for and provided Christmas presents.


 

2007


In light of the Holiday season, ConvenePro Employees volunteered their time at the Salvation Army's Mountain of Love and Angel Tree Distribution Center. The volunteers helped in sorting donated foods and preparing gift baskets for over 400 families. Salvation Army


 


ConvenePro volunteers cooked dinner for some fifty residents and family members at the Ronald McDonald House. The Lexington Ronald McDonald House provides a "home away from home" for families with children being treated at local hospitals. At the House, families find comfort and support as well as a comfortable place to stay with kitchen, laundry and indoor and outdoor play facilities. Ronald McDonald House


 


Acknowledging the impact cancer recently has had on our work family, ConvenePro volunteered at The Hope Lodge - Lexington. Started by the American Cancer Society, The Hope Lodge offers a free, temporary housing facility for cancer patients who are undergoing treatment.

In keeping with the spirit of giving, ConvenePro employees volunteered at the Shriners Hospital.  Team members led the children in creating holiday crafts and playing games.
